Having top-scored in European qualifying with ten goals, Greece striker Fanis Gekas will be hoping the goals continue to flow for his country at the FIFA World Cup.
Winning UEFA EURO 2004 set a benchmark for Greece who face a difficult initial test in South Africa alongside Argentina, Nigeria and Korea Republic in Group B. Eintracht Frankfurt forward Gekas, though, remains confident that Otto Rehhagel's side will meet expectations.
"I can't say we will repeat a success like that, but I think we will focus on every match to be able to get past the group stage," the 30-year-old told UEFA.com. "Whatever we achieve after that, will surely be a maximum performance."
